Packers run away with it, 32-10

Kansas City's 32-10 loss to Green Bay in Week 15 exposed a familiar problem: Patrick Mahomes had to do too much on his own. The Chiefs threw 41 times while running just 18 times, and it showed in the final numbers—278 total yards, 227 through the air, 51 on the ground. Green Bay controlled the line of scrimmage with 174 rushing yards and got Christian Watson 188 receiving yards in a near-perfect afternoon, while KC managed only 4 sacks to GB's 5. Kansas City has to find balance or stay buried: the Packers' 45 percent pass rate worked because they had options, and the Chiefs can't win games where they're forced to air it out 69 percent of the time against a defense that's clicking.

SRS is how many points a side beats an average team by once you account for who they played — beat a good team by 3 and it counts for more than beating a bad one by 20. SOS is how hard that schedule has been. Full table.

Kansas City's offense looked lost: 21 of 41 for 227 yards while Green Bay's defense forced them into the air on 69% of snaps. Christian Watson's 188 receiving yards on 5 catches was the difference — the Pack's receivers were simply uncovered all afternoon.
Marcus Reyes The numbers guy · replying
Jordan Love completed 15 of 26 and didn't need to do much more: Green Bay's ground game chewed up 174 yards while Kansas City's defense had nowhere to hide a 51-yard rushing day, and that gap alone explains a 22-point margin.
They only ever read the box score and this league's own numbers — none of them has a source, and none of them can report anything that did not happen.
