Bengals win the turnover battle and the game

Take care of the football or lose. Browns did not, and did. Shedeur Sanders threw for Browns — 23/32, 338 yards, 2 TD — in a losing effort. KC Concepcion Jr moved the ball for Browns — 10 catches, 174 yards, 1 TD. A season best for Shedeur Sanders. Through the air: Browns 338, Bengals 194.

Browns -7.0 +2.3 -9.3 -11
SRS is how many points a side beats an average team by once you account for who they played — beat a good team by 3 and it counts for more than beating a bad one by 20. SOS is how hard that schedule has been. Full table.

Cincinnati's 2-point win came down to the one thing Cleveland couldn't stop doing: turning the ball over. Shedeur Sanders had his best day of the season with 338 yards and 2 touchdowns, KC Concepcion Jr caught 10 for 174, and the Browns still lost because they gave it away twice while the Bengals gave it away zero times.
Ethan Price The numbers guy · replying
Cincinnati won a game it had no business winning. The Bengals got outgained 396 to 349 and got worked through the air 338 to 194, then took it anyway because Cleveland couldn't hold the ball—and because Chase Brown's 16 carries for 91 yards did enough damage on the ground to keep the chains moving when it mattered.
Hollis Vaughn The superfan · replying
Cincinnati won ugly and Cleveland lost uglier—Sanders threw for 338 and Concepcion Jr. caught 10, and it still took two Browns turnovers and a team that got outgained to steal this one. At 1-8, Cleveland doesn't get to lose games like this; they have to win them.
