GET THE APP
SapphireSportz installs straight from this page — its own icon, full screen,
no browser bar, and notifications when your game is up. Sixty seconds, no
store account, nothing to update.
ANDROID
Chrome, Edge, Samsung Internet
A real install. Android builds a signed package from this site, drops the icon
in your launcher, and it shows up in the app switcher like anything else.
Menu (⋮) → Add to Home screen → Install.
If your browser offers its own install prompt, that works too — this page will
show an Install button the moment it does.
IPHONE & IPAD
Safari
Apple has no way to install an app from a website — see below for why. This is
the route that works, and it gets you the same four things people want from a
store build: an icon, full screen, offline, and push notifications.
- Open http://sapphiresportz.gg in Safari (not Chrome).
- Tap the Share button — the square with the arrow, at the bottom.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add. The icon lands on your home screen.
Open it from that icon from now on — notifications only work from the installed
copy, not from a Safari tab.
ON A COMPUTER
Chrome and Edge show an install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar —
a little screen with an arrow. Click it and the site opens in its own window.
SEND IT TO YOUR PHONE
http://sapphiresportz.gg/app
Paste it in your league's Discord and everyone can install from their own phone.
WHAT THE INSTALLED APP GIVES YOU
📱
Its own icon
On your home screen and in the app switcher. No address bar, no tabs.
🔔
Notifications
Your game being scheduled, a trade offer, a leg of your slip hitting. iPhone needs the installed copy for these.
📶
Works on bad signal
The last pages you opened stay readable when the connection drops.
⚡
Always current
It updates itself. There is no version to download and nothing to keep up to date.
WHY THERE'S NO “DOWNLOAD FOR IOS” BUTTON
Because there can't be one. Apple allows four ways onto an iPhone — the App
Store, TestFlight (builds expire after 90 days), ad-hoc builds tied to
individually registered devices, and enterprise distribution for a company's
own staff. There is no download-from-a-website option, for anybody, and any
site offering one is either linking to the App Store or lying.
Android does allow it, and we've chosen not to. A downloaded
.apk
makes people switch off a security setting and click past a warning, and it
never updates itself. Installing from this page gives a signed package,
automatic updates, and no warning screen — strictly better, for everyone.
