What should I build?
Say where you play first. A build that wins organised 5v5 is not the one that wins a Theater run, and neither is what you should buy while you are still learning in Casual Corner. Every suggestion says why it was picked, what it costs, and the animations to chase.
Park Street Kings · The Hollows, Claremont Court, Rucker Park · 3v3
3v3 on three courts, with a weekly tournament: a play-in round off the seeding, a best-of-five bracket, and a single elimination final to 21.
What wins here
→ Two-way guards who can score AND guard the other side's best.
→ Offensive rebounding — a second-chance bucket in a game to 21 is worth two possessions.
→ Contact finishing over floaters when there is one big to beat.
→ Being able to switch onto anybody in a three-man switch scheme.
Watch out
Height is dominant in a contest. Under 6'5 you had better be able to create separation, not just rise into a hand.
1. The Park two-way — 3v3 switch guard
Built for Park
Street Kings is three courts and a weekly bracket that ends in one game to 21. Nothing decides those games like a guard who can switch onto anyone and still punish a closeout.
What it gives up: Creation. Somebody else has to make the first move.
The attributes that matter
Perimeter DefenseIn a 3v3 switch scheme you guard everybody.
88Three-Point ShotAbove the step; the corner is short in a 3v3.
87Offensive ReboundA second-chance bucket in a game to 21 is worth two possessions.
80Driving DunkFinishing over one big, not five.
84Ball HandleEnough to attack a closeout.
82StrengthNobody backs you down.
78StealThe turnover that ends a short game.

2. The lob threat — slashing wing
Built for Park
In organised 5v5 with a real passer, a lob threat bends the whole defence — the help man has to choose between your cut and their shooter, and both answers lose.
What it gives up: Shooting. Above 78 you are respected; you are not a shooter, and a crew that needs one should not draft you for it.
The attributes that matter
Driving DunkAbove pro contact dunks (87) and hunting elite (96) with a cap breaker.
92VerticalThe other half of the contact-dunk requirement, and what makes a lob catchable.
82LayupFor the nights the rim is walled off.
84Three-Point ShotNot your shot — but above the 78 line so the defence cannot ignore you.
80Perimeter DefenseYou switch onto wings.

3. The bully four
Built for Park
Nobody in a Rec lobby boxes out and nobody helps early. A four who simply goes and gets it beats five men who are all waiting for a pass.
What it gives up: Shooting entirely. Against an organised crew that packs the paint you will have a long night.
The attributes that matter
Driving DunkPast the pro contact-dunk line with room to grow.
90StrengthThe build is a body. Use it.
90Offensive ReboundIn the Rec and the Park this is free points.

The numbers people build around each one says where it came from
78
Three-Point Shot2K27The floor for a shot the Rec, Park and Theater respect — under this, defenders leave you and your team stops passing.
85
Three-Point / Mid-Range2K27The green window widens noticeably (roughly 48–55 ms of timing against 40–48 at 80).
92
Three-Point / Mid-Range2K27Pro 2 fadeaway, and the top of the forgiveness curve — the shot survives a hand in the face.
87
Mid-Range Shot2K27A mid-range that holds up in the shorter modes, where a pull-up is often the only clean look.

The green window, by rating
How much timing forgiveness a shooting rating buys you. This is the honest answer to "is 85 enough?".

| 70 | 33–38 ms |
| 80 | 40–48 ms |
| 85 | 48–55 ms |

What a contest costs
| Wide open | 10–15% harder |
| Contested | 55–60% harder |
| Heavily contested | 70–80% harder |
Badge tokens per discipline
The real budget. A build asking for six Shooting badges at Hall of Fame is asking for something the game will not give it.

Jumpshots
Max release speed on every one of them, and turn the release cue on. A shot you can see is a shot you can repeat.
What changed in 2K27
→ The right-stick steal is gone. Defence is a cutoff system now, so on-ball defence is about position and body, not a stab at the ball.
→ Height is dominant in a shot contest — it outweighs the perimeter defence rating. A 6'3 lockdown still gets shot over by a 6'8 wing.
→ Post steals are far less sensitive in 5v5 Pro-Am than elsewhere, so a big who wants the ball on the block is safer there than in a 3v3.
→ Every MyPLAYER in the co-ed City is built on the same framework — there is no hidden advantage in the character you pick.
