SRS is your average point margin plus the average rating of everyone you played. That's circular on purpose — your rating depends on theirs and theirs on yours — so it's solved by repeating until the numbers stop moving. It splits cleanly into offence (OSRS) and defence (DSRS), and the two always add back to SRS.

Read it as points: +6.0 means about six points better than an average team on a neutral field. The difference between two teams' SRS is the projected spread. SOS is how tough the schedule has been, in the same points — it's literally your rating minus how you've actually done.

A positive SOS means you've played a harder schedule than average — so your record is worth more than it looks. Negative means the opposite. SOS LEFT is what's still coming.

Take what a unit did, then subtract how much easier or harder than average the opponent makes it for everybody else. The opponent's baseline deliberately excludes the game being measured — otherwise a team would be partly grading its own paper and a dominant offence would erase its own dominance.

Worked example: you throw for 8.1 a pop. That defence gives everyone else 7.5 against a league average of 6.5 — a full yard soft. Your adjusted mark is 8.1 − 1.0 = 7.1. Still good, just not the 8.1 the raw table was selling. Arrows show which way the schedule moved you.

League average: 8.95 yards per pass attempt, 5.92 per carry. Green beats league average, red doesn't. ▲ = the schedule was hiding how good they are; ▼ = the schedule was flattering them.

Lines are ranked per dropback, not on raw totals. A team that throws forty times a game will always allow more sacks than one that runs it, and ranking on the raw count would punish an offence for its playbook rather than its blocking.

League average: 7.4% of dropbacks sacked, 7.2% of opponent dropbacks sacked. Sacks allowed is a TEAM number in Madden's export — there is no per-lineman figure — so this rates the unit, and the gameplan names the weakest individual protector from ratings instead.

FINISHING is points per 100 yards gained — the honest version of a red-zone rate. Move the ball and not score and you're stalling somewhere. PYTH is the win rate your points scored and allowed say you deserve; LUCK is real wins minus that, in games. TO DIFF is turnover margin, the least repeatable thing in football — a big number there is a warning, not a trophy.

League finishing average: 8.29 points per 100 yards. Orange luck = winning more than the points say (expect a correction). Blue luck = better than the record, due for better days.

WHY THERE’S NO “EPA” ON THIS PAGE

EPA needs down, distance and field position on every single play. You look up what an average team scores from that exact spot, run the play, look up the new spot, and take the difference. Madden's export is box scores only — there are no plays in it, so there's no spot to look up and no difference to take. Anything labelled "EPA" here would be a made-up number wearing a real name, and you'd be betting on it.

Third down and red zone was the right instinct — those measure the same thing EPA measures at team level, which is whether drives turn into points. They live in Madden's team stats payload. Good news: that payload is now landing with penalties, penaltyYds on it, so situational metrics are buildable — say the word.

So instead of faking it, everything on the screen above is the real family of ratings box scores do support — including FINISHING, which answers the red-zone question from the other side: are your yards turning into points, or are you stalling?
